13th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony in the Cedar Valley

Tuesday, April 23, 2019 - 7:00 pm

This year's ceremony will feature a presentation, “My Journey as a Child Holocaust Survivor,” by Harold Kasimow, the George Drake Emeritus Professor of Religious Studies at Grinnell College. He has been deeply involved in Jewish dialogue with other religious traditions since the 1960s. He has written and edited several books, most recently  Interreligious Dialogue: Religious Thinkers Engage with Recent Papal Initiatives (2018). Harold was born in 1937;  his parents, two sisters and he spent 19 months and five days hiding from the Nazis near Vilnius (Lithuania) in a hole dug in the floor of a cattle barn, covered over with boards and straw.
