Dan Mays, native plant enthusiast, freelance writer and Lifetime Master Gardener from Walcott, Iowa, will present "Native Plant Success in the Home Landscape."
Pete Berthelsen, partnership coordinator for The Bee and Butterfly Fund, will present "The three pillars of high quality pollinator habitat management." The Bee and Butterfly Habitat Fund identifies opportunities to establish critical pollinator habitat to help honey bee and monarch butterfly populations thrive.
Kristine Nemec will present "Creating the Case for Habitat in Rights-of-Way." The public is welcome to attend this free event.

This month's STEM Chat is a tour of the biology department's SynDaver Lab. The SynDavers (synthetic cadavers) are used to study anatomy, explore placement of medical devices and for surgical simulations. The SynDavers will have their organs in place during the tour. Those who wish to continue the discussion after the tour can walk to Maucker Union.
Daryl Smith and Bruce Stiles will lead the prairie walk. Paper bags for seeds will be provided. Meet at the Thunder Ridge Mall parking lot in Cedar Falls before 4:30 p.m. to car pool/caravan to the prairie. For those who want to join the group at the site, the prairie is located at the intersection of Butler and Mark roads. Park on the east side of Butler road south of the intersection near the sign of the west entrance.
