Seamlessly blending illusion, acrobatics, magic and whimsy, MOMIX sends audiences flying down the rabbit hole in Moses Pendleton’s newest creation, Alice, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland. “I don’t intend to retell the whole Alice story” Pendleton says, “but to use it as a starting point for invention.”

This wild and wacky showcase will feature unconventional performances by UNI faculty artists. This event is free and open to the public, though freewill donations will be accepted with proceeds to benefit the UNI Panther Pantry.

The UNI Physics Department will host the State of Iowa Physics Competition on Tuesday, April 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mcleod Center.  The competition includes a series of five physics events for high school (Grades 9-12) students including the catapult, mousetrap car, tooth pick bridge, optical slalom and measurement. The competition stresses creativity and ingenuity as well as an understanding of physics related principles and is intended to stimulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
