Final Thursday Reading Series featuring Adrianne Finlay

Finlay is the author of the young adult novel, Your One and Only (HMH Books), and an Associate Professor of English at Upper Iowa University.

Open mic signup at 7:00.  Bring your best five minutes of poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction to share (singer/songwriters are also welcome). The open mic starts at 7:15 and the featured author takes the stage at 8:00. A Q&A will follow each reading. Books by regional writers will be available for purchase. The Final Thursday Reading Series is a collaboration of Final Thursday Press, the Hearst Center for the Arts, and the University of Northern Iowa College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences. Coffee is provided by Sidecar Coffee Roasters and cream is provided by Hansen's Farm Fresh Dairy.

Final Thursday Reading Series featuring Catherine MacGillivray

MacGillivray has published translations of work by authors including Hélène Cixous and Marie Lèontine Tsibinda. She is a Professor of Languages & Literatures at the University of Northern Iowa  This reading is co-sponsored by the UNI Women’s & Gender Studies program as part of Women’s History Month.

Fay is the publisher and editor of the Wapsipinicon Almanac, an annual collection of essays, fiction and reviews produced in Anamosa, IA since 1988.

This event is free and open to the public; meet before 9 p.m. to get to the observatory (near the polar bear).
