Performance Competition Finals

One of our most interactive performances of the year, the UNI School of Music Performance Competition Finals concert is a great opportunity to get involved in the music education of our students. This showcase features talented student finalists competing for the Presser Foundation Award, the Charles and Marleta Matheson Award, the Myron and Ruth Russell Award and the People's Choice Award. This event is free and open to the public. 

Guest Recital: Alan Dunbar, baritone, and Mark Bilyeu, piano

Visiting artist Alan Dunbar, baritone, will present a recital with guest pianist Mark Bilyeu. Baritone Alan Dunbar is a versatile performer, lauded for his beautiful tone and his nuanced musical and textual interpretation, while pianist Mark Bilyeu, described as a “superb partner,” passionately engages in music as a committed performer, inspiring teacher and enterprising curator. This event is free and open to the public. 

Spotlight Series: Concert Chorale, Varsity Men’s Glee Club and UNI Singers

Two of the largest and most popular choral ensembles on campus, plus a group with a rich tradition of excellence, the UNI Varsity Men’s Glee Club and UNI Singers will offer a shared spring concert with our premiere choral ensemble Concert Chorale. Guest Recital: José Antonio Zayas Cabán, saxophone

Visiting artist José Antonio Zayas Cabán will present a saxophone recital. As a concert saxophonist and pedagogue, José has presented performances and taught master classes throughout Europe, the Caribbean and North America. These appearances include, among others, Trinity College and the Guildhall School of Music (England), the Scottish Saxophone Academy (Scotland), and the Conservatorio Real de Música de Madrid (Spain). This event is free and open to the public.
