The 2d Marine Division Band - "The Division's Own" - was formed from elements of the 2d, 6th, and 8th Marine Regiment Bands. Gathering for rest and relaxation, they came together for the first time in Wellington, New Zealand during World War II. The 2d Marine Division Band is the only musical unit aboard Camp Lejeune and provides musical support for the five major commands and 47,000 Marines for whom Camp Lejeune is home. "The Division’s Own" also performs in numerous parades, concerts and ceremonies throughout the eastern United States. This event is free and open to the public.
The Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the UNI School of Music invite you and your band to the 63rd Annual Tallcorn Jazz Festival and 67th Sinfonian Dimensions in Jazz Concerts to be held on February 16 and 17, 2018, on the UNI campus. Visiting artist Jeff Scott will present a horn recital. A native of Queens, NY, Scott has performed in numerous Broadway orchestras, has been a member of the Alvin Ailey and Dance Theater of Harlem orchestras since 1995 and has performed numerous times under the direction of Wynton Marsalis with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Jeff is also the hornist in the internationally acclaimed wind quintet Imani Winds. This event is free and open to the public.
