The Clothesline Project: T-Shirt Making

Tuesday, October 14, 2014 - 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Join the Women's and Gender Studies program for Shine the Light on Relationship Violence Week by participating in the Clothesline Project. The Clothesline Project started in Cape Cod, Mass. and has become an international visual art campaign to raise awareness about violence against women, children, the LGBTQ* community and other marginalized populations. By hanging up collections of shirts representing the individuals who have experienced violence, the Clothesline Project brings to attention these acts, which are often committed in our own homes and communities. Survivors and allies can decorate a t-shirt, which will be displayed in Maucker Union Oct. 15-16.
