Three different tracks for high school marching band students:
Drum Major: with focus on basics and advanced conducting as well as marching fundamental commands and leadership skills. Led by Cory Schmitt, Meredith Tipping and UNI students.
Colorguard: with focus on beginning and advanced basics, tosses, marching, and movement. A rifle track is available. Led by Amy Hunzelman and UNI students.
Leadership for Section Leaders: with focus of understanding many different types of leadership styles and identifying which style best represents you and your band program. Led by Leon Kuehner.
Registration fee includes materials, T-shirt, and dinner. Lunch is on your own.

Amp Camp is an innovative summer music camp at the University of Northern Iowa School of Music covering popular music styles including hip-hop, rock, pop, country and R&B. All skills levels and abilities welcome!
The Panther Marching Band, the largest student organization on the UNI campus, combines Panther spirit, pride, musicianship, and more than 100 years of tradition. UNI Music Education Day is designed for juniors and seniors in high school who are considering a career in music education working as an elementary music specialist, middle school/high school choir teacher, or middle school/high school band teacher. This free event for registrants will include classes in conducting, choral and instrumental methods from UNI professors, sit in on ensemble rehearsals, meet with current students, and experience first-hand what it might be like to be a music education major in college.
