The exhibition is a formal presentation of recent accomplishments by the faculty in the UNI Department of Art. It is an opportunity for students and the public at large to experience current themes in contemporary art and also to meet artists who not only teach but also maintain vibrant professional careers in studio art, graphic design, art history, and art education. The opening reception begins at 6 p.m., Mon., Oct. 9, in the KAB South lobby.

Refill not Landfill is a campaign to promote healthier living through sustainable water habits during the month of November. Free water bottles will be available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Schindler Education Center, noon to 2 p.m. at the Wellness/Recreation Center and 9 a.m. to noon at Maucker Union, Rod Library and Curris Business Building Tuesday, Oct. 31. Did you know there are more than 65 refill stations located around the UNI campus to make it easy to get your 64 ounces of recommended water every day? Find us on Facebook at Recycling and Reuse Technology Transfer Center to get daily tips and facts about healthy living through sustainable waters habits.

If students are members of the general student body of BSU they must have dues of $10 paid by Thursday, Oct. 26 to attend. The cost for non-members is $11. There is a limit of five people per lane.

Laura Nasrallah, professor of new testament and early christianity at Harvard Divinity School, will present "The Significance of Monuments: Paul's Letter to the Romans, Augustus's Obelisks, Mussolini's Archaeology, and #tearthemdown." This lecture will discuss race, politics, power and religion in ancient Rome and in the fascist Rome of Mussolini in order to think about debates around monuments and history today. Observatory Show

Observatory Show

9:00 pm to 10:00 pm

View the night sky through the computer controlled telescope at the Earth and Environmental Science Observatory. This event is free and open to the public; meet before 9 p.m. to get to the observatory (near the polar bear). No late admissions will be allowed; no food or drink and no cellphones or other electronic devices can be used during the observatory visit.
