A UNI Permanent Art Collection Exhibition co-curated by Dr. Elizabeth Sutton and Gallery Director Darrell Taylor. This presentation seeks to make visible some of the objects in the UNI Permanent Art Collection made by women artists and elevate contributions of women as makers. Note, the Gallery will be closed Mon., Jan. 15 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Free and open to the public.

An exhibition by Mary Griep, retired Associate Dean of Fine Arts at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN representing nearly two decades of work inspired by 11th and 12th century sacred architecture from around the world. Among the large-scale artworks on display are Notre Dame Cathedral of Chartres (France), the Hindu temple of Angkor Wat (Cambodia), the Mayan temple El Castillo (Mexico), and the artist’s newest work, the Baptistery of Saint John, in Florence (Italy). On Wed., Jan. 17 at 6:00 p.m., Griep will present a lecture about her work in Kamerick Art Building, room 111. An opening reception will follow.

The labyrinth is in the form of a circle with a meandering but purposeful path from the edge to the center. While walking the labyrinth, one may feel joy in slowing down the pace of life and find peace, insight, reflection, creativity, relaxation and wisdom. It can be made available for student organizations, events and meetings.

Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn more about reporting within Qualtrics, how to set up e-mail triggers after surveys are completed, when to use display and skip logic in your survey and more. This is the second of a two-part series about the uses of the Qualtrics software tool. You can attend one session without attending the other. Please RSVP by Friday, Feb. 16.

Getting enough sleep is vital for our health and overall quality of life. Participants in this session will learn the importance of sleep and tips for good sleep habits.

Tunnel of Oppression

Tunnel of Oppression

Wednesday, February 21, 2018 - 6:00 pm

This event will aim to focus on the variety of oppression of African-Americans from slavery to discrimination. Each classroom will display scenes of oppression, as well as a real-life r-enactment putting the student in the scene to give them a true experience. The Tunnel of Oppression rooms will include a microaggressions, colorism, check your privilege, black lives matter vs. all lives matter, hair room, slave room, layers of the black and LGBTQ community, and a counseling room for debrief sessions.
