"Whose Land Is This? Native American, European and American Perspectives"

The Grout Museum of History & Science is the venue for the inaugural display of a traveling exhibit created by the UNI Center for Holocaust and Genocide Education on the contact between Native Americans, European explorers and traders, and American settlers in Iowa. The exhibit focuses on different conceptions and uses of land on the part of Native Americans, Europeans and Americans that shaped the interactions of these groups. "Whose Land Is This?" highlights federal, state, county and other sites related to Native Americans in Iowa and the history of exploration, colonization and settlement in the state.

The UNI Botanical Center will hold its annual spring plant sale with the Student Nature Society in Classroom # 26. We will have our usual selection of herbs, annuals, tropicals and succulents. There will also be a few summer bulbs. The sale starts at 7:30 a.m. Come early for the best selection.

"B.F.A. Group Exhibition" and "M.A. Art Education Candidates’ Visual Timelines"

Monday, April 29, 2019 - 7:00 pm to Saturday, May 11, 2019 - 5:00 pm

Opening Reception: Apr. 29 at 7 p.m. The following students are pursuing Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in their respective emphasis areas and are exhibiting new artwork to fulfill graduation requirements: multidisciplinary artist Anastasia Chloe, painters Deo Rai and Emily Michelle Schroeder, and sculptor Hanna Seggerman. Concurrently, the Gallery will present "M.A. Art Education Candidates’ Visual Timelines" in the Showcases and ZigZag Cases in the KAB South lobby. These visual timelines document classwork and applied research completed by the Art Education cohort of 2019. All events are free and open to the public.

View the night sky through the computer-controlled telescope at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences observatory.  This event is free and open to the public; meet before 9 P.M. to get to the observatory (near the polar bear).  No late admissions.  No cell phones, food or drink allowed.
