Final Thursday Reading Series: Pierre-Damien Mvuyekure

The 15th season of FTRS opens with featured reader, Pierre-Damien Mvuyekure, author of the poetry collection, Lamentations on the Rwandan Genocide, 2nd Edition. His published works include World Eras Volume 10: West African Kingdoms, 500-1590 and The “Dark Heathenism” of the American Novelist Ishmael Reed: African Voodoo as American Literary HooDoo. The Final Thursday Reading Series begins at 7 p.m. with open mic signup. The open mic begins at 7:15 p.m. Come to listen or share your best five minutes of poetry, fiction or creative nonfiction. Pierre-Damien Mvuyekure will take the stage at 8 p.m. There will be a brief Q&A as time permits. Copies of work by regional authors will also be available for sale. Final Thursday Reading Series is a collaboration of Final Thursday Press; the Hearst Center for the Arts; and the UNI College of Humanities, Arts & Sciences.
