In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard, a young, gay student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in a lonely field under a blanket of stars. His death sparked a worldwide and ongoing conversation about the costs of hate and the importance of acceptance. This three-part fusion oratorio speaks with a fresh and bold voice, incorporating a variety of musical styles seamlessly woven into a unified whole. The UNI Concert Chorale will perform, under direction of conductor John Wiles. This event is ticketed. For tickets, call (319) 273-4TIX or visit https://unitix.uni.edu/.
